DANNY COPELAND, CPT

Danny Copeland, president of Cogi Athletic, Inc. resides in Meigs, GA with his wife JoAnn and six children: Danyelle, Jessika, Danny II., Josef, Doylisha, and Joshwa.

He graduated in 1984 with honors from Central High School in Thomasville, GA and went on to attend Eastern Kentucky University where he recieved numerous athletic and academic awards. Among these acheivements are 2 All-Ohio Valley Conference selections, Who's Who Among American College Students, Ohio Valley Man of the Year, GTE Academic All-American, and Eastern Kentucky Minority Male Student with the highest GPA.

In 1988, he was the draft choice of the Cleveland Browns, and played from 1989 until 1990 as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs (Special Teams Captain in 1990). One year later he signed on with the Washington Redskins (click for a career highlight) and in the same year he became a member of the NFL All-Strength Team. He was the starting strong safety for the Redskins 1992 Superbowl victory and the 1993 Redskins Man of the Year.

Copeland was a host of the television show, Danny Copeland's Redskins Report, and has appeared on numerous television and radio talk shows. He is an accomplished motivator and team builder with a passion for tackling issues such as fatherhood and integrity in the marketplace.

In the mid-1990s, he was a part of several Operation Blessing distributions with athletic and entertainment personalities including Mercury Morris, Billy Graham, Meadowlark Lemon, A.C. Green and Mr. T.

Danny is a CPT (certified personal trainer) through the National Strength Professionals Association. He has served on the Board of Advisors for Thomas County Adult Literacy and Thomas Area Communities in Schools. Since 1989, he has been active in youth motivation, outreach and children's ministry. Currently, he works with youth through the Community Betterment Society and the Charlie Ward basketball camps (click for Charlie Ward story). He now serves as director of athletic development for Cogi Athletic's Next Level Training.

DONDELL GREEN, CPT

        Dondell Green, CPT, is an Athletic Development Specialist for TEAM COGI. He resides in Thomasville, Georgia and is married to a wonderful wife, Lakeisha. Together they have two sons, Christopher and Dondell Jr.

        Dondell attended Thomas County Central High School in Thomasville, GA, where he received numerous academic and athletic awards. He was awarded for being the athlete with highest GPA on the 1993 football team, winner of the Thomas County Central High School Algebra II quiz bowl, Thomas County Central High School first State Championship running back, with honors of All Area and State honorable mention. He was also the Thomas County Central High School first Region Champion in wrestling and finished second in the State Wrestling Competition in 1992 and 1993. Dondell became a Member of FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) in 1991. After graduating from Thomas County Central High School in 1993, Dondell received a scholarship to play football at Georgia Southern University where the team won the Southern Conference in his first season. Unfortunately his football career with Georgia Southern University abruptly ended due to a major knee injury.

        Dondell has over 10 years of  experience in employee and consumer relations and in  retail management. He has an undying passion for youth and for seeing  people achieve their personal goals.  He joined the Cogi family to share his testimony and to help others succeed spiritually, physically and mentally. Dondell is also a member of United Full Gospel Church, where he serves on the Leadership Board. He and Lakeisha serve as youth ministry leaders for the church.
